Credential

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)

Required subject areas

  2. Mathematics1,2
  3. Laboratory Science1 (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language1
  5. Elective
  1. Applicants who are missing one or more eligible courses should refer to the page on missing required subjects for further information.

  2. Calculus is a required course in first year for business/commerce (St. John's campus only) and science programs at Memorial. To ensure students are prepared for entry into their chosen program of study, 12th level pre-calculus mathematics is normally required for admission to these programs. Other mathematics tests/courses may be considered at the discretion of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

Grade requirement
  • Minimum average of B in the required subject areas on the HSC, with a passing grade in each subject.
English language proficiency
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

  • Current Higher Secondary interim transcript and Secondary marksheet certificate (academic transcript) uploaded to the admissions portal or sent by email.
  • Official English proficiency test result.
  • Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
When you complete your examinations (verified acceptance)
  • Scan of your official Higher Secondary marksheet certificate (academic transcript) uploaded to the admissions portal or sent by email.

If you have completed high school and not attended a post-secondary institution

  • Scan of your official Higher Secondary marksheet certificate (academic transcript) uploaded to the admissions portal or sent by email.
  • Official English proficiency test result.
  • Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.

If you have attended a post-secondary institution
