Grocery Shuttle
Meet at Flag Entrance, 2-4pm
This free grocery shuttle will transport you from Grenfell Campus to Corner Brook Plaza, Murphy Square, Colemans, and Sobeys, with a return to Campus. The shuttle will operate in 30-minute intervals.

Movie Night - Ice Age
8pm, Campus Courtyard (Tee-Pee Area)
Kick off the semester with a cozy outdoor movie night! Join the GCSU and Grenfell International Office for a screening of Ice Age under the stars. Bring a blanket, grab some popcorn and enjoy an evening with students as we welcome everyone back to campus.

Winners have been sent a special invite, in their @mun email, to a congratulatory reception hosted by our Deputy Provost. Parents and supporters of the scholarship winners are also invited. Farheen Haq Artist Talk
12:00PM - 1:00 PM, Art Gallery
Grenfell Art Gallery is the university art gallery for Memorial University, and serves as a public art gallery for western Newfoundland. Each year they host 3-5 professional visual art exhibitions, as well as an exhibition of the graduating BFA Visual Arts class (April-May) and the graduating MFA Visual Arts class (June).
Farheen Haq's multimedia work explores politics, family relationships, migration, gender, religion and reconciliation. Her exhibition 賲蹖诤 丕倬賳蹖 賲丕诤 讴蹖 亘蹖俟蹖 蹃賵诤 | I am my mother鈥檚 daughter is touring from the Campbell River Art Gallery in BC.
Students and faculty of all disciplines are welcome to attend the artist talk, light refreshments will be served!

Social Insurance Number Clinic
AS 2036, 10am-2pm
A Social Insurance Number (SIN) is a 9-digit number that is needed to work in Canada. If you are student who is planning on working in Canada or filing income taxes, then you will need a SIN.
* International students must bring the original passport and study permit
* Canadian citizens/permanent residents must bring two pieces of valid Government-issued identification, one of which must have a photo.
International Student Get Together

Start the semester by making connections! Join students, faculty and staff for an afternoon of conversation, community building and refreshments. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and strengthen our campus community.
Splash of Colour Run
AS Atrium, 11am
Come help us celebrate the 10th Anniversary of this event!! The most colourful 3 kms in Corner Brook will be at Grenfell Campus! Join us for our non-competitive, fun run, that requires only your enthusiasm for running through a rainbow of colours (we鈥檒l provide the white t-shirts and sunglasses). The route will be 3 complete loops around Grenfell Campus, with the start/finish line outside the Arts & Science Atrium (Each runner will be required to complete a waiver prior to the race). Backlot All Ages Event

Celebrate the start of the semester with an exciting all-ages live music event at the Backlot! Enjoy a great performance, connect with friends old and new, and experience one of GCSU's favourite orientation traditions. Doors open at 8:00pm, music starts at 9:00pm.
Tipi & Coffee - Campus Coffee Break

The Indigenous Resource Centre invites you to join us at the Tipi for coffee, conversation, and community as we welcome students back to Campus and begin the new semester. Indigenous Student Gathering

The Indigenous Resource Centre invites all Indigenous students to join us for an afternoon of food, connection, and community. Meet new and returning students, enjoy free pizza, learn about the Indigenous Resource Centre and the Indigenous Student Caucus, and discover ways to get involved throughout the year.
GCSU Backlot Coffee Hour and Presentation

Take a break and join us for coffee, tea, and conversation at the Backlot. Meet fellow students, relax between classes, and learn more about upcoming GCSU events and opportunities.
Gros Morne Trip
8AM-6PM | $60 (trip valued at $120)
Open to all students. Visit Gros Morne National Park, one of UNESCO鈥檚 World Heritage Sites. In this trip, you will get to walk on the Earth鈥檚 Mantle in The Tablelands, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and navigate through two fjords on a 2.5 hour boat tour in Bonne Bay. Transportation, park pass, and boat tour are included. Email gcinternational@mun.ca to register.

Grenfell Graduate Students Society (GGSS) Hike

The GGSS welcomes all new students to join us on a hike along the Gorge Trail on Sunday September 20th. Check out another side of Corner Brook, get some exercise and take amazing selfies on a picturesque and challenging route. Details will be found on our registration form, which you can access here . National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
AS Atrium, 11am
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation responds to one of the calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which calls for a day to 鈥渉onour survivors, their families and communities and ensure their public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.鈥 Observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is one of the ways Grenfell Campus can demonstrate its commitment to the process of reconciliation. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to take part in planned activities, which include the raising of the Every Child Matters Flag at 11:00am followed by a commemorative walk. Everyone is encouraged to wear orange; Every Child Matters t-shirts are available for purchase in the campus bookstore.
All Nations Powwow
LOCATION, 11am-3pm
Grenfell Campus鈥 Office of Indigenous Affairs will be hosting the 10th Annual All- Nations Powwow. Opening reception at 11:00am., followed by Grand Entry at 1:00pm. Join us for a day filled with learning, community, kinship, and celebration. The Powwow will also feature local vendors and artisans offering handmade crafts, artworks, jewelry, and food.
All are welcome to attend this family-friendly event!
